"Where are the flying cars that I was promised?"

Technology seems to be a racing game that very few of us can keep up to. It seems that every second of the day companies are creating new, improved, and smaller devices to make our lives easier. Toru Ichihashi created the personal computer in the a pen. To view his creation follow the following link: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_pen_pc.htm

Toru created the P-ISM which includes the capable of five functions: a pen-style cellular phone with a handwriting data input function, virtual keyboard, a very small projector, camera scanner, and personal ID key with cashless pass function. "P-ISMs are connected with one another through short-range wireless technology. The whole set is also connected to the Internet through the cellular phone function. This personal gadget in a minimalistic pen style enables the ultimate ubiquitous computing" (Ichihashi, 2003). I believe that eventually we will be introduced to new devices that will be the size of a dime and these devices will perfom all the above P-ISM functions. As devices are becoming smaller they are also going to be very portable. In the future I expect that many new devices will allow anaylsis to be conducted everywhere and anywhere. Think about all the advances that have occurred in the medical field due to new technologies. From an x-ray, technology has improved by introducing the CAT scan and now the MRI. Eventually, I see these large machines becoming smaller and more portable. I am hopeful that creators of new technology will introduce units that will be able to screen one's health entirely with one simple device. It seems that there are many machines that will examine one particular health issue. For example, one could not go in and have a full body MRI. Computers today do not seem to run fast enough to screen the entire human body. They need to create computers that will examine the human body with a touch. This sure would remove a lot of the waiting periods for many people concerned about their health.

There are many new technology devices that will teach you how to dance, play a piano, write a song, etc. without even leaving your home. Follow this link to see some of these new devices: http://www.virtualdevices.net/Products.htm I believe that we will in the future be more confined to our homes since we can run our entire household via the Internet (banking, ordering groceries, shopping on-line, working from home, and conferencing with almost anyone and anywhere). This is only the tip of the iceberg. Education is now being taught via satellite. Distance learning has been around for many years, however advancements in this field has made this experince more interactive. The following link provides evidence to our ever evolving world of technology: http://tojde.anadolu.edu.tr/tojde13/articles/toporski.html Students today, can experience course worldwide.
